CLIFTON NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH
At the time of writing there were 2 reported crimes during the last period. Incident 311 01/11/2018 – Lilbourne Road, Clifton A vehicle has been stolen with keys. Incident 283 22/11/2018 – North Road, Clifton At 2.00pm a set of keys have been stolen from an insecure car.
The Clifton Community Speed Watch team has been monitoring the speed of traffic through the village at various locations with the following results since the last report. Newton Rd (30 mph section), 100 vehicles checked; one doing 33 mph and one doing 42 mph. Rugby Rd (30 mph section), 100 vehicles checked; none exceeding the speed limit. More checks to follow.
Please do not drive if you have been drinking, even if it is the day after you have been drinking.
Park in a safe location. Please leave your vehicle secure and take your keys with you. Do not leave any items on display; if you cannot remove them from the car put them out of sight in the boot. Anything left on display is an invitation for a criminal to break in and take it even if it is not valuable. An envelope, empty carrier bag or a sweater are all tempting to a criminal.
When out shopping, in a bar, restaurant etc. keep your valuables out of sight and in a safe location. Look round and see how easy it would be to take someone else’s phone, wallet, keys etc. and make sure yours are out of sight and more secure in a zipped pocket etc.
Make sure your home is secure and ensure any valuables, including keys, are out of sight. If you are away or out for the night use light, TV, Radio timers to suggest there is someone at home.
