Clifton Upon Dunsmore parish council was extremely proud to be presented with the Local Council Award Scheme (LCAS) certificate at their meeting last week by Borough Councillor Hunt and County Councillor Warwick.
The new LCAS has been designed by the National Association of Local Councils to celebrate the successes of the very best local councils and to provide a framework to support all local councils to improve and develop, to meet their full potential. The scheme offers councils the opportunity to show that they meet the standards set by the sector, assessed by their peers, and to put in place the conditions for continued improvement.
Chair of the Parish Council, Marion Nash, said “Thanks are due to the diligent and committed work of the Clerk to the Council, Christine Lord, to bring together the exhaustive amount of evidence required to achieve the award. We are already well on our way to meeting the criteria for the Quality standard, which will provide further confidence that the Parish Council maintains an accountable and transparent practice in the use of public funds.”
